Dear SGTC members, First of all, thank you for joining our wonderful club and coming out weekly to play and support this amazing tennis community. We just had a great tournament this past Saturday with the Monterey Park Tennis Club. It was a packed house with all courts being used. Thank you to everyone who attended and donated your food and time to set up and clean up! As you may have heard, the school district has increased our court rental fees this year. At first, they were going to charge more than double our previous rental fees! It was only after several negotiations with the school that we managed to reduce the rates to about 50% more than last year. This is why you have seen membership dues increase slightly from last year. In order to keep our club viable, we had to increase the dues to cover the increased costs. Even with these additional costs, we believe that our club can thrive and still present the best value in all of San Gabriel Valley. You can't get 9 reserved courts anywhere else for just $70 for the whole year! We're actively recruiting to get even more people of different levels to come together and enjoy tennis. That's what makes our club really special. Looking forward to the month of May, we have Scramble on Saturday, May 2nd and an intra-club tournament scheduled for Saturday, May 30th. Please check your email in the coming weeks for the Evite! For the rest of the year, we have a packed schedule with at least one inter or intra-club tournament each month until our annual Holiday Party in December. If you have friends or family who are interested in playing tennis, please have them try out and join our club.
