Aloha SGTC Members!

Great news about our SGHS courts -we just found out a few days ago from the school that we'll have a newly resurfaced, clean, no more cracks, and new windscreens soon.  The school is putting in some money to support the tennis program! Hurrah!

This construction work will take 4 weeks or so from July 27th to August 18th, so we won't be able to use the courts for those  weeks.  The tennis coach needs to have the courts back before the school year begins for his girl's tennis team practice.

The board has reserved 1 court at Arcadia Park in Arcadia for members to play on from 9 am to 11 am (court #2) next Saturday, July 27th. That was the last court available in the morning.   Please let Mike Lu know if you are planning to come and play.  At 11 am, the courts free up usually, so you can try playing more or come later and see if you can play- the late risers :)

If there is more interest for the next week, August 3rd, we can try reserving a 2nd court, but we can't reserve for that date till another few days.

You may also play at the various public parks around San Gabriel Valley (call each other - all members have a club roster - if you don't have the newer member's information, just email us).

We will tentatively plan a tournament soon, too.  Free tourney fees for the next tournament!

Email Mike Lu if you are interested in playing at Arcadia this Saturday, July 27th.  We have 4 signed up already, so players might need to rotate, or reserve on your own for times after 11 am.  We'll try this out for the first week.

Email me and the board with any suggestions, input, feedback.  The board is working hard so all our members can enjoy their passion!  We'll soon have cleaner, safer, newer tennis courts to play on and visitors from other tennis clubs, i'm sure, will appreciate the courts.

Please check your email regularly for club updates.

Members who are at Port Hueneme this past weekend, I'm sure you all had a wonderful time.  Who won the big prize money? You must all be tired from the Sat. morning intraclub tourney, the Sat. afternoon Oxnard Tennis Club tourney and the Sunday morning intraclub mini tourney.   Wish I could have been in 2 places at once & joined you folks...

Stay cool, everyone!

President Sandy Lee
