On December 4, 2016, the San Gabriel Tennis Club had it's traditional year end holiday party event at Claim Jumpers restaurant in Monrovia. This year, SGTC had a surprisingly large turnout of 47 people attending! Everyone arrived at around 6 PM to sit down at the large gathering table. At around 6:30, dinner was served. All members had a large delicious selection of entrees to choose from; including Steaks, Jambalaya, Tri-Tip, BBQ Baby-Back Ribs, Grilled Mahi, and others. After dinner was served, president Ben. L. brought forth all current board members to be thanked by the entire club for their service. In addition to that, our special board advisers Lily N. and Sandra. L announced the 2017 board member installation. Unfortunately, our most beloved accountant, James B. will not be able to serve on the board in 2017, because he will be travelling back home for his family. SGTC truly sends it's thanks to all your amazing and dedicated work James. SGTC also sends it's thanks to all board members who have stayed on to maintain their voluntary service to the club! After that, Social Coordinator Tony. W. brought all members of Ben's 3 Nationals Teams (7.0 Mixed, 3.5 Men's, and 40+ Mixed) to come up front and take pictures; while letting the club know of their achievements. Our member Nick P. won this year's prize for most scramble points. Congrats Nick! All of us had a great time in playing Amber and Mike's online Kahoot Trivia game, where members tried to answer questions about our club's history as well as questions about the pro tour. Finally, after everyone had dessert, the club had it's traditional raffle prize event, where a majority of members won prizes ranging from chocolates to gift cards!
