Congratulations to SGTC members Kathy Janisch, Linda Chang, and Yoshi Mori. They were part of the 7.0 Senior Mixed Doubles team Balz of Fire representing Southern California that won the 2011 USTA Leagues Senior Mixed National Invitational held at the McFarlin Tennis Center in San Antonio, Texas on April 1, 2012! Wow! Over 3 days, Balz of Fire competed through tough conditions of heat and humidity against teams all over the country to go undefeated. In the finals, they beat Florida 3-0 to win the 7.0 division title. We are so proud of you all! Keep up the super tennis playing!  A few updates on other teams with SGTC members: 1. Captain Keiko Kagan's SGTC Mixed 8.0 USTA team is still playing with 4 more matches to play this season. They are in 5th place out of 15 very competitive teams. SGTC members on the team: Women - Masako Naito, Hiroko Nozoe, Amy Liang, Keiko Kagan, Sandy Lee, and Men - Brian Ching, Mike Lu, Tony Luong, Tony Law, Mel Cabral, Colin Tang. 2. Keiko's SGTC Mixed 7.0 team is in 3rd place with only one more match to play. SGTC members on the team: Women - Keiko Kagan, Lisa Yeung, Lily Ng, Lisa Szeto, and Men - Tony Wong, John Machikawa, Jin Wen, Lee Nguyen, Justin Lee. Everyone is enjoying playing together. Great job captaining, Keiko! 3. There are lots more SGTC members competing on many different USTA teams as well! Good job to you all! |
