The highlight of any interclub tourney we have is… the food. Monterey Park Tennis Club brought the great dishes - Kumi shared homemade spam musubi & delicious sushi rice casserole. Other tasty dishes included noodles, broccoli beef, fried rice, and various char siu baos and chicken buns, as well as fruits and veggies. And it wouldn't be the same without Sandy's world famous slow cooked Kalua pork, which I believe Sandy prepped at 4am that morning. What dedication! We nibbled and munched throughout the morning to keep our energy up for each round we played. Some more than others which I'm sure made for some sluggish tennis but it's hard to resist. All of it concluded with a rich chocolate cake celebrating the recent accomplishments in higher learning by two of our favorite club members, Tony Law and Mike Lu. It was a very good morning. And of course, the tennis was fun, too! |
