Monterey Park vs San Gabriel Tennis Club Tournament August 25, 2012

posted Aug 29, 2012, 9:01 PM by San Gabriel Tennis Club
Everyone had a blast! Not a bad day for tennis - perfect weather, overcast in the morning, then just right to enjoy the sun but not the summer heat like the week before.

Good tennis, great company! Thanks to Monterey Park Tennis Club for bringing delicious food to add to the chicken, chow mein, chow fun.  To Tony Wong for picking up the food and for all members who brought a little something to share, thank you!  Hope you got a little something from Hawaii from Sandy, too (macadamia nut sampler).

Thanks to Tony Law & Pete Tapia for setting up everything, to Martin Law & Pete for setting up great lineups and thanks to Anna Gee for coming out to help w/ everything, too!

And we can't forget Simon's younger brother, Vincent - thank you, Vincent, for taking photos of all the tennis players in action on the courts!  See the pix on our website.

Final results were so even!  8 to 8 matches won for each club, and 5 tied matches. Wait till next year for more competition and fun.

Pete & Linda of MPTC commented, “First if all, it was a beautiful day for a friendly tournament against San Gabriel tennis club. We had a pretty even turn out of players and the matches were nicely competitive.  Everyone seemed to enjoy the variety of foods our clubs brought out and there were very little leftovers, it was just the right amount. Huge Thanks to Anna & Tony for the organization on their side. I think it went well. We had a great time, as we always do when we play our friends from San Gabriel. Thanks for the opportunity, we'll see you all again next year!”
