Saint Patty's Day Tourney

Thank you to all who participated in the St. Patty's Day Tournament on Saturday, March 12, 2011.  The weather was perfect and it wouldn't have been such a success without the help of everyone, including Mel, Mike, and Steve who helped unpack and setup our goods. Anna, Gloria, and Sandy brought all of our special St. Patrick's Day decorations to make it a festive occasion!

A special thanks to everyone who brought food for the morning and for lunch; the char siu bao that Kumi brought, Felix's egg rolls, Sandy's meatballs, chocolates from Anna, and all the muffins, pop tarts, cookies, chips and dip, veggies, and donuts to name a few. It really helps a lot. Thank you to John Machikawa and Tony Wong for sitting out one round to pick up our delicious main dishes of KFC chicken and Chinese dishes. After a long morning of tennis, it's always nice to socialize over a heaping plate of good food.

Thanks to everyone for being flexible with their partners to accommodate late entries and people who had to leave early. We hope everyone enjoyed their match-ups. The big winner on the Men's side with 3.5 wins was Joe Flores! The four with 2.5 wins were Eric, Felix, Chuck and Steve. The winner for the Women's side was Eric Hsieh's guest Sherry with 3.5 wins.  Shirley, Kumi, Sandy and Amber all tied for second with 2 wins. Click here for the results.

A personal thanks to Sandy and Mike for staying up very late to help organize the last minute match-ups, and wrap the prizes. Everyone who participated received a small but individually wrapped with care favor as well. I hope all of you enjoyed your green prizes! Thanks to Steve for being a filler to help round all the match-ups out.
